DESCRIPTION:– Geometry\, repetition and modularity are three basic principles in all of my works\, resulting in a visual language that is highly recognisable. –\n\nConrad Willems (°1983) his SCULPTURES share the same basic principles. Earlier works explored simple geometric shapes\, blurred or emphasised by adding light. Later sculptural works are constructed with freestanding pieces. These modular installations are often constructed live. The building process thus becomes a performance\, the resulting construction an installation work. My latest installations are made with natural stone building blocks\, referring more and more to sculptures in a more classical sense. – The interpretations of the works are left to the viewer. – \n\n\nThe DRAWINGS show the repetition of figures\, varying in shapes and sizes. They are made with freehand and without a predetermined plan: every drawn line is a permanent one. This method of freehand repetition generates patterns\, disturbed by imperfections in the repetition process. Some earlier drawings are reminiscent of cities or minimal urban landscapes. There are however only shapes\, no buildings. The form denies any function. In more recent work\, the repetition pattern becomes more and more flawed. Ultimately\, each shape is a new one. In my latest work I layer several drawings over each other\, blurring recognisable shapes\, then adding new ones. DESCRIPTION:Het laatste puzzelstukje valt op zijn plaats\, a new band is born. \nDiep in het coronatijdperk begon Tim als éénmansbandje songs voor te bereiden en zocht hij zorgvuldig medeplichtigen om een nieuw muzikaal verhaal te stichten. Die vond hij in Robbe\, Kim\, Toon en Bess. Stuk voor stuk\, goeie muzikanten met een warme persoonlijkheid. \nWe doopten onze band BROGUS. \nWe brengen no-nonsense rockmuziek; enkel eigen songs met net als elk van de bandleden onmiskenbare roots in de 90’s\, stevige bluesrock met tentakels in het postrockgenre en krachtige vocals.

DESCRIPTION:– Geometry\, repetition and modularity are three basic principles in all of my works\, resulting in a visual language that is highly recognisable. –\n\nConrad Willems (°1983) his SCULPTURES share the same basic principles. Earlier works explored simple geometric shapes\, blurred or emphasised by adding light. Later sculptural works are constructed with freestanding pieces. These modular installations are often constructed live. The building process thus becomes a performance\, the resulting construction an installation work. My latest installations are made with natural stone building blocks\, referring more and more to sculptures in a more classical sense. – The interpretations of the works are left to the viewer. – \n\n\nThe DRAWINGS show the repetition of figures\, varying in shapes and sizes. They are made with freehand and without a predetermined plan: every drawn line is a permanent one. This method of freehand repetition generates patterns\, disturbed by imperfections in the repetition process. Some earlier drawings are reminiscent of cities or minimal urban landscapes. There are however only shapes\, no buildings. The form denies any function. In more recent work\, the repetition pattern becomes more and more flawed. Ultimately\, each shape is a new one. In my latest work I layer several drawings over each other\, blurring recognisable shapes\, then adding new ones. DESCRIPTION:‘Reflections from Hell‘ – a tribute to Wizz Wizzard – Tien jaar na het overlijden van Philippe ‘Wizz’ Beauprez\, de gepassioneerde muzikant en festivalorganisator uit Aalter\, krijgt zijn muzikale nalatenschap opnieuw aandacht. Het tribute-project streeft ernaar om Wizz eervol te herdenken door zijn muziek opnieuw live te brengen. Na enkele try-outs zijn er optredens gepland op festivals en selectieve shows\, met een nadruk op een bescheiden en respectvolle uitvoering. Een deel van de fee wordt geschonken aan ‘Kom op tegen Kanker’. \n\n\nVoorprogramma (tot 21u45): \nToxic Thrills is a fresh face on the local music scene\, the chemistry between the bandmates is anything but new. For years\, they’ve shared numerous of bands\, road trips to concerts & festivals\, and countless hours of reminiscing over classic records. DESCRIPTION:Murphy groeide op in een Iers-Italiaans gezin in de buurt van New York City\, omringd door de uiteenlopende klanken van de traditionele muziek van zijn buren: Italiaanse mandolineliederen\, pulserende Latijns-Amerikaanse ritmes en opzwepende Ierse canons. Uiteindelijk raakte hij gefascineerd door de inmiddels overleden\, grote multi-instrumentalist David Lindley (Jackson Browne\, Ry Cooder\, Bob Dylan) en vervolgde hij zijn studie aan Bard College\, waar hij Turkse en Indiase muziek verkende en compositie studeerde aan het prestigieuze New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. \nSindsdien heeft Murphy het publiek in meer dan veertig Amerikaanse staten betoverd\, uitgebreide tournees door Engeland\, België en Nederland gemaakt en een adembenemend omvangrijk oeuvre van meer dan 500 werken opgebouwd.
